This coming Tuesday, June 25, at 2 PM, Charles and I will present a concert entitled “An Asian-American Connection: New Music Presented by Oboe Duo Agosto” at the 42nd annual International Double Reed Society Conference at the Black Box of Loewe Theater, University of Redlands, California. We will perform three oboe- English horn duos that we have commissioned over the past two years: Phantasy by Feng-Hsu Lee, Mandarin Ducks by Phil Salathé, and the world premiere of Portrait by David Macbride.
Heartfelt thank-you`s go to the composers for writing such beautiful music for us to take around the world. We look forward to performing at the conference; have music, will travel!

It’s only 6 days away from the 2012 Hartford New Music Festival! We will be opening the festival by performing Feng-Hsu Lee‘s Phantasy, which we commissioned for the inaugural Asian Double Reed Conference last August, 2011.
We’d also like to invite you to visit the festival’s fundraising page: Hartford New Music Festival at Indiegogo . This year marks the second edition of the festival and there will be musicians from Connecticut, New England and New York performing works by local and international composers. We need your support to keep this music festival and others like it, going in our community. Thank you!
On April 29, 2011, Charles and I, together with violist Kum-Joung You, cellist Han-Wei Lu, and pianist Lily Lin, as the Sylvanus Ensemble , will present the world premiere of Path, a piece by award-winning Hartt composer, Feng-Hsu Lee. The concert will take place in the beautiful sanctuary of The Universalist Church in West Hartford.
Other pieces on the program are works by Beethoven, Debussy, Mozart and Telemann, most of them rearranged to accommodate the unusual instrumentation of the quintet.
The admission is free – a goodwill donation accepted at the door.
Come explore a new path with us!
